Add ChatCloser
Google Tag Manager
Use Google Tag Manager to easily install ChatCloser on your website.
Step 1: Sign into Google #
Sign in to your Google account associated with Google Tag Manager.
Step 2: Access Your Dashboard #
Visit the ChatCloser Dashboard to find your unique embedding script.
Step 3: Find and Copy Your Code #
In the "Add to Website" section of the dashboard, click the "Copy" button to copy the script to your clipboard.
Your ChatCloser embedding code will look similar to this:

Open Google Tag Manager and select your website's container.
Step 5: Create a New HTML Tag #
- Click on "Tags" in the left sidebar
- Click the "New" button to create a new tag
- Click on "Tag Configuration"
- Select "Custom HTML" as the tag type
- Paste the ChatCloser code you copied earlier into the HTML field

- Click on "Triggering"
- Select "All Pages" if you want the chatbot to appear on all pages of your website
- Alternatively, create a custom trigger if you want the chatbot to appear only on specific pages
Step 7: Save and Publish #
- Click the "Save" button
- Click "Submit" to submit your changes
- Add a version name and description (e.g., "Added ChatCloser chatbot")
- Click "Publish" to make your changes live
Step 8: Verify the Installation #
Visit your website to confirm the ChatCloser widget appears correctly. It may take a few minutes for the changes to propagate.
If you don't see the chatbot, you can use Google Tag Manager's Preview mode to debug the issue:
- In Google Tag Manager, click "Preview"
- Enter your website URL and click "Start"
- Check if your ChatCloser tag is firing correctly
Troubleshooting #
If you're experiencing issues, ensure that:
- You've correctly pasted the full ChatCloser script without modifications
- Your Google Tag Manager container is properly installed on your website
- There are no JavaScript errors in your browser console
- You haven't implemented any content security policies that block the ChatCloser script
- You don't have conflicting tag manager code
